GCSE Product Design
2009 saw the first group of pupils complete Product Design GCSE.
They chose to work from two contexts, illumination and adornment storage and or display.
Most girls chose the adornment storage and display brief which challenged girls to design and make a creative container and some glass fused jewellery.
A small group of girls chose the illumination brief and produced some equally stunning products.
Below is shown the fruits of their labours.
GCSE Resistant Materials
This year the girls embarked on Creative Containers brief. The girls were challenged to design and make a container that looked like no other container ever designed, well almost.
All girls produced pretty unique designs and employed our new CNC router in the production process. The CNC was used to manufacture the front and rear pieces of each container from birch plywood. The drawers and additional items were all hand crafted.
